Not off to such a good start today.
GK got mad at John Saturday because he wouldn't go on the ladder to do the roofing for the deck.
That's Johns one thing.
No ladders.
GK got mad, they had words, John went home, we went to the coast.
GK stayed mad all weekend, and when John showed up this morning, GK told him to pack his tools and go home.
I felt so bad.
Bad for GK and bad for John
GK is very strong in his opinions and how things should be done, but John is a seventy year old man who can't always do the things GK wants him too.
The whole thing is just a messed up deal that maybe should have never even been started.

So when the heat got to hot in the kitchen for us on Saturday, we went to the coast and had the BEST time ever.
It was the perfect day, sunny and cool.
When we got there the wind was really blowing and it was the BEST!!
We went to a little candy store in Newport and bought fresh crab off the dock.
I cant wait to go back.
Next time we will stop and see Betty at the coast.
She has been one of GK and Grammy's best frinds for a little over a hundred years or so ; )
We tried to get GK to go with us, but he was still blowin steam and wanted to stay home with his dogs.
Anyway, I cant wait to go back. I would love to someday go and spend a few days. During the winter.

Gk has gone to town, and I hope he is in a better mood when he gets home.
I hope he didn't go to Molalla to poke the bear (John) and I hope time works all this out. Gk can hire someone to finish the deck and he and John can just go back to being friends.

Wyatt is on a field trip to the Oregon Gardens today. He was really excited.
He had a great time at the beach, and I think brought half of it home in the crack of his ass ; )

Mike is good and busy working, still enjoying his job and LOVING his truck.

Wendy worked the Oyster Run this weekend, and I guess made a fistfull of dollars.
I hope she marries a rich man.
I hope she marries.
If I had a wish I would wish for her to move here and get married and live in the little house and work at Bi-Mart and have two babies.
That would be cool.
I would also wish that she would have a boy and a girl baby and let me name them.
I would name them Howard and Amy Ann.

Have a good day : )

Ok, so yesterday I went to pick Wy up from school and decided to follow all the other cars instead of going the way I knew to get to town.
Big mistake.
We were lost for almost an hour : (
After turning around and going back the way we came, we did find our way to town.
Don't ask where we were, because I couldn't tell you.
We didn't get home till after 5:00 so I started dinner right away.
Fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy with corn on the cob and a green salad.
Half way through dinner Wy stood straight up, looked at me and said "OPEN HOUSE"!.
We got up from the tabble, put on our shoes and headed back to school and caught the last 15 minutes of open house.
I was really glad we went because I found out that Wyatt is really quite well liked contrary to what he had me believing.
All kinds of kids were coming up to him and saying hello and even telling thier parents what a great artist he was, and a bunch of kids told me he has the best cursive in the class.
Quite an honor if you ask me. : )

We came back home cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes and Wyatt just started his reading when Mike came home.
I got everything back out for Mike to eat dinner and we all had a nice evening together.

Nothing to exciting going on today.
Mike left for work at about 10:00, I made a batch of cookies and the geriatrics got two pieces of plastic roofing up.
Now I need to go fold laundry and make some beds before my programs come on.
GK is boiling old chicken eggs for the dogs and then he will probably take a rest too.

Have a good day!

So Far So Good

The day is off to a good start.
GK had his doctors apt this morning and got an A+ from the doc!
Feeling good and looking good.

We got home and I took Sassy the white wonder humper in to see the vet...just in time.
She's coming into heat.
Blech.
She goes in Friday morning for her gut removal and they will take some more teeth out while she's under.
She had to have an anitbiotic shot because she has an oogy cough pressumambly caused by the nasty teeth.

I got home from the vet and there was a message from Wyatt saying it's picture day at school and he forgot his money.
I ran a check in and listened as he begged to be picked up this afternoon.
I caved, so I will go back for him at 3:30 and then head to town for some groceries.

The geriatrics are busy slowly working on the deck.
About two boards a day is what they usually get done.
Trust me, there are too many stories to be told and to much coffee to be consumed to leave time for much more than that.

One Life will be on in a few and I still need to get something to eat.
Chow!

Late Edition

Not much shook today.
The morning started out with Gizmo getting mad because I didn't stay outside with him, so he ran up behind the barn and hid from me.
After calling him for ten minutes I got in the car and drove up and down the road squinting out my dewy windshield calling for him out of the one window that rolls down.
I got home almost in tears and called for him one last time before I went to wake up Mike and he came running down the pasture like his ass was on fire.
I was happy to see him.

We finally have the bus schedule all fugured out now that Wyatt has had two weeks of successful transports to and from school.
He seems to be a master of the big yellow bus and the time it keeps.
Today was his day at school to bring and brag, and he chose to bring Gizmo and brag about everything that makes Gizmo one of the three best dogs in our house.
He (Gizmo) was in all his glory taking center stage in front of a room full of eight year olds sitting criss cross applesauce on the floor at perfect face licking level.
He made his way around smelling faces and licking leftover breakfast off of everyones hands.
He was a BIG hit!
Wyatt was a BIG hit!
It was a good day at Clarkes Elementary.

Mike and I came home from school just in time for the first coffee break of the geriatric gang.
I'm really not qiute sure if they had even started yet, but we let it pass as a break.
Not to much got done today because the 20 year old "wiggle board" Gk had was the wrong size.
Who knew they made more than one size of "wiggle board".

Mike and I watched "Lifetime" until noon when he had to leave for work.
I'm sure he had a hard time dragging himself away, wondering all day if Delta Burke was able to kick her compulsive gambling habbit.

Well, that's about it.
We just finished dinner an hour or so ago and I have everything cleaned up and ready for tomorrow.
GK has a doctors apt at 8:40 and then we come home and take the white wonder humper to the vet for a pre-op to her girly guts removal scheduled for Friday morning.
I'll be sure and let you know how it all comes out.

Get it...."all comes out"
Her guts..."all come out"
Get it????

Good night : )

It may seem as though I am having a hard time keeping up around here.
I am.
Between construction on the deck, five dogs, a stubborn Grandfather, a Husband with shift changes and an eight year old, I just can't seem to keep up with it all.
Things have been going smoothly, but honest to Gawd, I think this whole "deck adventure" will drive me insane.
It has been three months now and it's not even half way finished.
It's not John fault, although if he worked on it more than three or four hours a day it might go a little faster.
The problem is, John is seventy and has health issues of his own.

"Geriatric Construction.....we'll try to finish before we die".
That's kinda funny and kinda true.

Can you hand me a hammer.
A what?
A hammer.
Some jam....what the hell you want with jam?
I said a hammer!
It's not even lunch time.
Can't ya hear me, I said a hammer!
OH! A hammer.... why didn't ya just say you wanted a hammer.
Here's your GD hammer.
What'd ya hand me this hammer for...I thought it was lunch time?

That's the way things go around here : )

I woke up yesterday to see GK wearing a pair of brown pants I bought him two Fathers days ago.
I was shocked.
My whole life I have only seen him in his working man green pants.
Not only were these pants brown, but they fit him.
It was a real shock to my system.
He said he liked them so much he wanted a few more pair.
Wyatt and I went to K-Mart and bought him two more pair, but the new ones we bought were working man green.
He really looks good.
I think he has been feeling better too.
We went to the Bomber last night for dinner.
That was fun, and they had good food.

My Mom got another new dog.
Did I tell you this already?
Anyway, it's her 6th new dog in just a little over two years.
That doesn't mean she has 6 dogs, it's her 6th NEW dog.
I don't plan on getting to attached.
It's a nice dog, a pomeranian.
He had three names by the second day she had him.
I think I'll just call him temporary.
She seems very happy to have him though and he's happy enough to be there.
For now.

My new favorite snack is Cheese Curds from A&W.
If your out and about today go try some.
They taste even better with a large A&W root beer.

Have a good one : )

Tuesday

Sorry I missed you yesterday.
It was soooo hot here. You wouldn't believe it.
John and Chucky were here working on the deck and I got a killer headache at about 10:30.
The guy's only worked until about 11:00 and then it was just too hot.
GK sat in his chair with the fans on all afternoon and still it was too hot for him.
Of course he didn't tell me he didn't feel well until late in the evening. I worry about him.

He took the farm truck (manual transmission) in to get new tires this morning.
His legs are so week he has problems walking most of the time and I wouldn't drive with him in the suburban on a good day, so you can imagine my concern that he's driving the pick-up.
I'll just sit here and chew my nails till he gets home and then think to myself what my Dad used to always say....
"Cheated death and won again"
I wish there was some way to convince him to slow down a little, but he just keeps on a goin'.

Mike is still really liking his new job.
He said it was pretty hot in the sun yesterday, but other than that, he doesn't complain much.
I am still getting used to having him around in the mornings and gone at dinner, but it is so much better than him having to get up at 2 or 3:00am to go to work.

Wyatt is liking school this year.
He has the same teacher and all the same kids in his class, so there wasn't much adjusting.
Sometimes I wish he fit in more with the other kids, but you know Wy, always one to make his own way.
I'm going to try and get him in to Cub Scouts and see if that helps with him making some friends that are boys instead of playing with only the girls.
He did tell me that he and Jesse (a girl) had a fight yesterday because he was going to play with Tristan (a boy).
Jesse got mad and Wyatt had to explain to her that sometimes boys just need their own time together.
I swear, that kid.

I'm going to town to see my Mother today.
She got another new dog.
That's all I'm going to say about that.

So far, thats all the news I have for today.

Hellllo.......

Ok, so yesterday was a great day.
We went to the doctor and got a good report. The doctor could NOT believe how well GK revovered from his "episode" last week.
Gk has been worried about eating too much and watching his weight and the doc said not to worry, eat what he want's, just watch the salt.
So, on that note the whole family, including the neighbor kid, are going to Hooters for dinner tonight.
GK is so excited.
It's all you can eat shrimp week ; )

Ummmmm, let's see, last night we made everclear apple pie.
I guess it's really good, I haven't tried any.
Mike brought some home last time he went North and everone liked it. The kid next door bought the stuff and we cooked it up in our kitchen after dinner.
It sure smelled good.
The kid and GK had a shot of everclear in some Kool-Aid. Both their cheeks turned pink and they just whistled and shook their heads.
Good thing the hooch we made has more apple juice than everclear!

Mike has the day off today, so we've been putzin around all day.
We went to look for used chickens, but didn't find any.
Maybe next week. I think we went to 3 or 4 thrift stores and couldn't find any.
Bummer
Last week we found a REALLY good one.
I'll take a picture of it.

We found a good sword for Wy though. They have all the Halloween stuff in already, so there was ample supply of toy weaponry.
Captain Y.

The poodles and Pooter are at the Beauty Barn today. They should look and smell fresh as a daisy when they get home.
GK's white poodle is going in to be "fixed" next week. Praise the Doggy God's!
I hope he fixes the grey one too.
Nothing would thrill me more than never having to watch poodle porn in the front room again.

Lloyd, Kelly's husband surprised everyone and came home from Afgahnastan a week early!
You can imagine how excited they all were to see each other : )
Hi Lloyd!

I think that's all
Have a good afternoon

Summer Slides

[slideshow id=144115188086941468&w=400&h=320]

Wow

I guess it's been a while.

This may not be to long because I have to get Wy up for school in a few and Mike is home until 1:00 today.
John and Chucky the neighbor will here around nine to "work" for GK on the deck.
GK has a doctors appoitment at 2:30.

Heres the quick version.

Gk was in and out of the hospital last week.
Critical heart failure and they didn't expect him to live till' lunchtime.
He was home for dinner the next night : ).

He was in the hospital for a week in July.
That was for dehydration, confusion and delerium.
They probably should have found me a comfortable room with padded walls by the time that stay was over with.
The doctor had him on WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY to much medication and it really took it's toll in a bad way.
We have another new doctor now.

Mike has a new job.
Yes, another one.
He was driving log truck, and the company he was driving for also contracted to haul overflow groceries for United Grocerers.
United liked him so much they offered him a job.
Union bennifits, retirement, blah, blah, blah.
Of course he took it.

He really likes it and he works good hours.
He's been there a little over a month.
Just long enough to buy a nice new truck ; )

Wy is back in school.
Third grade.
He loves it.
He has the same teacher as last year, so everything was comfortable starting this year.
Just like an old pair of shoes.
He had a fun summer spending a week at Camp Carlson, visiting with Maddy, and his Cousins Drew and Quinn were here for ten days.
Aunt Julie was here for a visit and so was Aunt Kelly.
The rest of the time was divided between swimming at the river, spending evenings at the pool, running after small farm animals and poking sticks at bugs.

We have a new neighbor.
One of Mikes, friend's, kid, (23) moved in next door while he's working a job for Snelson.
His name is Nick and he is THE best.
Guess who else likes him?????

Let's just say we see Wendy ALOT more now.

I think he's kind of sweet on her too.
They would make the perfect couple.
They are both funny and loud, and he's really smart.

Oky, gotta go.
Later!

Warm Up

Guest Host for the first blog back is Mike Carlson.
Thank you Mr.Carlson.

Tomorrow will be a regular blog catching everbody up on whats been going on : )

NEW RULES

New Rule: Stop giving me that pop-up ad for classmates.com! There's a reason you don't talk to people for 25 years. Because you don't particularly like them!? Besides, I already know what the captain of the football team is doing these days--mowing my lawn.

New Rule: Don't eat anything that's served to you out a window unless you're a seagull. People are acting all shocked that a human finger was found in a bowl of Wendy's chili. Hey, it cost less than a dollar. What did you expect it to contain?? Trout?

New Rule:? Ladies, leave your eyebrows alone. Here's how much men care about your eyebrows: do you have two of them? Okay, we're done.

New Rule : There's no such thing as flavored water. There's a whole aisle of this crap at the supermarket, water, but without that watery taste. Sorry, but flavored water is called a soft drink. You want flavored water? Pour some scotch over ice and let it melt. That's your flavored water.

New Rule: Stop screwing with old people. Target is introducing a redesigned pill bottle that's square, with a bigger label. And the top is now the bottom. And by the time grandpa figures out how to open it, his ass will be in the morgue. Congratulations, Target, you just solved the Social Security crisis.

New Rule: The more complicated the Starbucks order, the bigger the asshole. If you walk into a Starbucks and order a "decaf grande half-soy, half-low fat, iced vanilla, double-shot, gingerbread cappuccino, extra dry, light ice, with one sweet-n'-Low, and one NutraSweet," ooh, you're a huge asshole.

New Rule: I'm not the cashier! By the time I look up from sliding my card, entering my PIN number, pressing "Enter," verifying the amount, deciding no, I don't want cash back, and pressing "Enter" again, the kid who is supposed to be ringing me up is standing there eating my Almond Joy.

New Rule: Just because your tattoo has Chinese characters in it doesn't make you spiritual. It's right above the crack of your ass. And it translates to "beef with broccoli." The last time you did anything spiritual, you were praying to God you weren't pregnant. You're not spiritual. You're just high.

New Rule: Competitive eating isn't a sport. It's one of the seven deadly sins. ESPN recently televised the U.S. Open of Competitive Eating, because watching those athletes at the poker table was just too damned exciting. What's next, competitive farting??? Oh wait!? They're already doing that. It's called "The Howard Stern Show."

New Rule : I don't need a bigger mega M&Ms. If I'm extra hungry for M&Ms, I'll go nuts and eat two.

New Rule: No more gift registries. You know, it used to be just for weddings. Now it's for babies and new homes and graduations from rehab. Picking out the stuff you want and having other people buy it for you isn't gift giving, it's the white people version of looting.

New Rule: When I ask how old your toddler is, I don't need to know in months. "27 Months." "He's two," will do just fine. He's not a cheese. And I didn't really care in the first place.

New Rule: If you ever hope to be a credible adult and want a job that pays better than minimum wage, then for God's sake don't pierce or tattoo every available piece of flesh. If so, then plan your future around saying, "Do you want fries with that?"
