Pink Eye and Bikini waxes

What a weekend...
I think I want to start spending my weekends in the Poconos.
Mind you I have no idea where the Poconos are but I've heard a lot of people talking about spending weekends there so I think I want to go too.
Especially if you don't have to do dumb stuff there like cook and clean.
6 got home Friday afternoon and after he got all his work junk done we had to go to town and buy him new pants and new shoes and then we refi'd the loan on the truck because we got our interest rate dropped which lowered our payment so we had to fill out all that paperwork and then get back to town to Fedex it back to the bank and then we had dinner and then it was to late to clean the mother clucking garage!!!!
I can't believe it.
I think he needs to just bite the bullet and go back to work for Safeway.
We figure if he had done that we he got home from Iraq we would be through the hardest part already.
See with Safeway you bid runs based on seniority and when he went to Iraq he lost his seniority so he might only work two days a week but the thing is he can make almost as much in two days as he can in a full week driving for anyone else AND he's home to take care of our falling down farm.
Seriously, there is so much that needs to be done and it seems like every week we don't get one thing done two things fall apart so I think he just needs to come home.
That of course means more cooking for me and having to sit in the uncomfortable chair but I guess I'll just have to learn to sacrifice.

Molly Mule has pink eye.

She has pink eye so she has to have drops twice a day, well I guess it isn't really drops it's a gel, but she loves having it done because she gets a marshmallow afterwards.
Mules love marshmallows.
So do donkeys.
And sheep.
And goats.

Little Judy is growing up before our very eyes.
I decided it's best not to create another monster like Belle, so I send her out with the big kids during the day instead of letting her stay in the house with me like Belle did.
Belle still barks from the barnyard when she wants out and thinks she should have a seat on the couch instead of a bed in the barn and gawd knows I can't have two like her.
Judy seems perfectly content to go out and tag along although I'm pretty sure the other three think she's a real pest.
Pearl and Nanny both get really annoyed when she tries to nurse on them and Belle won't even let her get close.

We're meeting Wendy for dinner in town tonight.
She's getting really close to being done with her hours at school and has already passed her state boards.
You know it's a proud moment for a mother when her daughter completes the entire beauty school course.
I was just a mere manicurist and always dreamed of a better life for her.
The world is her oyster now and I think she has a very bright future in permanent waves and bikini waxes.

A Lot About Nothing

And the year of the sickies rolls on...
Wyatt has been sick so many times this year, nothing serious, just colds mostly, snotty nose and coughs, but they just keep coming one after another.
6 was sick last weekend, but I don't think it's the same thing Wy has now, Wyatt is having really bad stomach pain and 6 was having dizziness, shortness of breath and a heaviness in his chest.
I know, I know, it sounds like he was having a heart attack, but he's fine now.
I hope.
He has to be ok, and so does Wyatt because our insurance doesn't kick in until February 1st and we're still paying off our last two medical emergencies.
So keep your fingers crossed and hope for speedy recoveries, I need them both well so they can take out the garbage and open the gate.

Still no call about my dream job.
Deborah went over my resume and cover letter though, so maybe I'll have a better chance at the next job.
I really wish I could just set up a farm store in the little house and make my soaps and candles and sell coffees and flowers and produce and honey and berries, and pumpkins and eggs and antiques.
I'll work on that.

I'm trying to think of what to make for dinner tonight...
I think I'll make PW's Round Steak, I have a few in the freezer and anything fried is always a hit in this house.
Maybe I'll make some M&M cookies for dessert.
I made Paula Deen's Monster Cookies last week and they were deeeeelish but what wouldn't be deelish with an entire jar of peanut butter, a stick of butter, M&M's and chocolate chips.

Ok, I have to go to town, I'm out of dog food and chicken scratch.

Ramblings...

Um, I think it was yesterday that I said our year was off to a great start.
I spoke to soon.
We lost Timber yesterday and I now believe it was a parasite carried by white tail deer that hit both Tina and Timber. I found them both laying in the same position within a month from one another.
My heart is broken beyond words.
I can't talk about it anymore.

Wyatt goes back to school tomorrow and even though I love having him home, he also kind of sort of drives me nuts.
Today we will spend the day crafting together and maybe make a cupcake casserole and finish off his last day of freedom with Hamburger Helper (gag) for dinner.
He'll eat it, not me.
It's his last box of Christmas Hamburger Helper and he has loved each box more than the box before. (gag)

I think I'll make some soap today and maybe start a rug.
I need to do something to keep my mind occupied because if I don't I start bawling just like I'm doing now because I'm talking about it after I said I wouldn't talk about it.

6 is on his way home from the frozen north and should be able to spend at least one day at home this weekend.
I start thinking of all the projects we can get done in a short amount of time the minute he tells me he's coming home.
This weekend I think we need to tackle the big burn piles left over from when we had some hazard trees taken down in the mobile spaces.

I really wish he could get a week off and that we had a bazillion dollars so we could do something about the falling down barn.
It's not one of those cool old falling down barns, it's just a mid century fixer upper that has past fixer upper stage and gone straight to falling down stage.

I have to say, I'm really happy to be back on Blogger.
I missed my updating blogroll and love feeling like part of a blogging community again.
A friend of mine just started a knitting blog, Grammie Vee's Knitting and I'm so glad she chose to do it here.
If you love to knit or crochet you will love her blog, go check it out!

You can't name That Tune

I remember when I found out I was going to have a baby... Both times.

In my mind I envisioned blowing raspberries on their bellies and playing piggies on their toes.

I remember the day I got them... Both of them. Those beautiful little faces, their eyes meeting mine for the first time. I remember the way they smelled and the absolute joy I felt when I held them in my arms close to my heart.

But something happens as time goes by that changes how you view your perfect little cherubs. Like douchebag boyfriends and band.

Last night was Wyatt's first band concert and my ears are still ringing from the misplayed notes of Hot Crossed Buns and a version of Jingle Bells (I think) that I'm sure even the original composer would fail to recognize.

When Wendy was in sixth grade I forbid her to be in band because I was in band and I know what those instruments sound like when they have the misfortune of being handled by middle schoolers and I remembered how torturous those performances were. Lucky for me, Wendy was the kind of kid that didn't argue or ask questions and happily signed up for choir, which still requires a mandatory Christmas performance appearance but the stakes aren't nearly as high.

But then there's Wy. The way I see it Wyatt either possesses magical powers or I've gone soft as a parent. Probably the latter. That kid has a way of getting everything and doing anything and somehow always manages to convince me he's full of great ideas... Until those great ideas have a direct negative impact on me. For instance, last summer when he decided to catch crawdaddys in the pond with hotdogs on a string and then I had to cook them when I had no idea how to cook crawdaddys and then the crawdaddys heads were full of crawdaddy eggbrains (I think I just threw up in my mouth a little).

Or band.

I guess I'm lucky that Wyatt is obviously a clarinet prodigy because he has NEVER practiced at home. I swear I have never heard him play a note, but last night on that stage with homeless hair and a borrowed tie he belted out those songs with pride and afterwards asked if I could hear him from where I was sitting (as close to the parking lot as possible) as he beamed over his success as a blossoming musician.  So I guess I'm ok with him being musically inclined, as long as I don't have to attend another concert until he's been accepted to the Portland Symphony.

On a lighter note...   ;)

I think 6 will FINALLY be home tonight. I swear, his Mother must feel like she's hit the jackpot and he and I got a divorce and she has him home again. Most of his loads take him up north so that means layovers back home which is really a good thing because he's getting to spend time with his Mom and Maddy. Ever since we moved down here, almost five years ago, he hasn't been able to see them nearly as much as he'd like and he's missed out on so many things like birthdays (and band concerts lucky bastard) and so many other milestones that are so hard to miss. So, even though it's hard to be home alone for so long, I know it just builds my character and keeps my ass from getting to ginormous and at least we get to see him a few days a month which is better than when he was gone to Iraq. I have to say, it's really nice to miss him and not hate his guts anymore. I suppose everyone does stupid things, look at me, I've done at least five stupid things and at least two REALLY stupid things~Jack~and we all deserve a do-over. I'm really glad he's doing his so well ♡

See you tomorrow.

Sickness & Celebrations

Hello?

Can you hear me?

I have ben sooooo sick I thought for sure I was gonna tip over.

I was so sick I envisioned my kids arguing over who was going to get Pooter and Pearl after I was gone...

And knowing for sure a fight would ensue over Astro the cutest kitten in the whole world.

And as I laid there I wondered if my family would really follow through with my wishes of playing Fly Me To The Moon and Lime and the Coconut at my services and serve wiener winks and Little Smokies in grape jam like I requested or if they'd just bring in a pizza and some garlic bread from Papa Murphys.

If my Sister was in charge of things I know she'd serve a nice lasagna and offer a variety of pies.

{Note to self, put Julie in charge of  send off social}

Anyway I'm up and around today but moving pretty slow, well slower than usual... But up is good, and being able to breathe is good and being able to talk is good (for me) and being able to Twitter, Facebook and Etsy is really good (no laptop.)

Wendy is coming out today!

I haven't seen her in a few weeks so I'm soooper excited to see her and hear how school is going and hopefully she'll tell me that she's seen the light and realized what a d-bag her stupid boyfriend is and that she's met a wonderful, smart handsome guy with a car and a job who doesn't live with his parents and has a valid drivers license and can pass a drug test with his own pee. I know, I'm asking a lot, but I can dream, right?

And..... Last but not least, today is 6's Birthday!

I have nothing romantic or mushy to say, only this... Thank gawd you're finally older than me (you can tell by the picture how old he is) and I hope you have a wonderful day in Canada and I hope that you get me a way better gift for my Birthday than I got you for yours.

In other Birthday news, my oldest friend in the whole world is celebrating today too!

I  have nothing mushy to say to you either.

Thankfully we established a non sensitivity pack in the very beginning of our friendship when you gave me a bloody nose when we had to walk hand in hand to the lunchroom because I had sweaty hands.

So, my gift to you Valerie is that I have ALWAYS let you be skinnier than me and a reminder that you were NEVER the purse watcher.

I love you both.

Kitchen Chaos

This morning as I was loading the dishwasher I did something so shocking I almost blew my own mind. I loaded the silverware heads up. Not just to be a rebel, but to see if there really is a difference in how clean the utensils get. See I was always a heads UP girl and then Trina said that was wrong because then you handle the heads on the way out which totally makes sense to me and add that to the fact that there is less risk of losing a finger or slicing your wrist open heads down but there has always been that nagging voice in me that says heads up.

My sister has a fancy pants dishwasher where the silverware lies on its side on its own shelf and I have anxiety even writing this because I don't get it. See there's a system to loading that kind of rack and if you're the kind of person that struggles with heads up heads down how can you possibly handle on its side in certain order.

I'm having a grit in the butt of my glasses issue with my washer too. I wonder what that's all about.

Now I'm going to tell you something that might make you decide you don't like me.

I'm going to share with you what a freak I am.

A few years ago 6 got me a set of Rachel Ray pots and pans but I gave them to his mother because Rachel Ray drives me nuts because she's always licking the corner of her mouth and I couldn't concentrate on cooking, all I could think about was Rachel Ray licking the corner of her mouth and I would end up a total basket case before dinner was even on the table.

Then my sister gave me a Rachel Ray cookbook and I had to pass that on too because the thought of her on the shelf in my kitchen licking the corner of her mouth was enough to give me fits.

There's more...

Shortly after I passed off the set of Rachel Ray pot lickers 6 got me a set of Paula Dean cookware (I wonder if he's a secret shopping channel watcher...) but I can't stand her either because she's so political and I don't want to be thinking about Paula's political opinions when I'm making a pot roast or no bake cookies. I really love her love of butter but hold the opinion please, if I want to know the state of the nation I'll turn on the news thank you very much.

So I've decided I'm going back to cast iron frying pans and Walmart Target Kmart garage sale pots.

OMG!

I always forget about the garage sale my Grampy left up in the barn, there's enough miscellaneous bits and pieces of this and thats up there to outfit seventy hundred kitchens!

I gotta put my boots on, I'm going shopping.

Look at this...

This is what Wyatt made last night...

This one is made from pages out of a magazine, but he also has one he's working on that is white and he's going to spray the tips with spray paint.

That kid LOVES spray paint.

He's going to make some bigger ones to sell on Etsy, and in his mind he already has his millions spent.

6 made it home with his new truck this weekend and it is SO pretty.

Is a truck pretty?

Oh well, this one is. It's Prius green (color not fuel consumption) and it has the really big retroee kind of gages in white and silver and it is huge.

Did I say it was big?

It. Is. Huge.

He went to work for

and he'll be driving the western eleven states and Canada so if you pass him on the road

or see him in your rear view

be sure to wave.

Or flash him. He would probably like that too. Unless you're a dude.

Ok next.

Here's a picture of our barnyard boss.

Frick.

Frick is a Frizzle and I swear she only has feathers about two months out of the year and is the toughest hen you've ever laid eyes on.

Frick is so tough she doesn't lay eggs, she lays rocks.

Anyway, I just wanted to share a picture of her when she has hair because she usually looks like she's getting ready for a dip in a hot pot.

And lastly...

Here's a picture of the cutest thing you'll see all day and maybe even all day tomorrow.

Astro.

I know.

We needed a kitten like we needed a hole in our heads and obviously we must have holes in our head to get a kitten, but I swear, if you saw the cutest thing in the whole world you would probably bring it home too so don't hate.

Happy Monday.

No Tricks and Very Few Treats

Have you ever taken a really big drink from the wrong cup of coffee?

I just did.

Moral of this story... Never put todays cup of coffee next to yesterdays cup of coffee.

We went Trick-or-treating last night and it was a total bust.

Let me preface this story by saying I despise it when people say "back when I was a kid" or "I remember when" or "In my day" because back when you were a kid you were a kid and most of the time (most of the time) life sucks more for adults.

With that being said, when I was a kid we got dressed up, grabbed a pillow case, do you say pillow case or pillow sheet? I say pillow case. And RAN from house to house. Our parents didn't walk with us or follow behind in the car and we went out immediately after dinner and didn't come home until we had finished the job. We got a lot of popcorn balls and sometimes a caramel do you say cAre-a-mel or CAR-mal? I say CARmal. Caramel apples that I sucked the caramel off of because it was kind of slimy and watery, not like caramel on the apples that you get at the fair.

We got quarters and little sacks of candy corn, cookies and of course all the other stuff you would expect, but let me tell you, that is NOT how it is in 2010.

Kids walk from house to house and they all have a cell phone to their ear, except for the really little ones whose parents carry them from house to house and then just set them down in front of the door and then pick them up again and carry them to the next house. There is NO running, no pushing anyone out-of-the-way, no stomping through anyones yard to be the first to the door, it is completely civilized AND these dumb kids are satisfied after only an hour or so and less than a pound of candy in the bag. Now I ask you, how is one pound of candy supposed to sustain both Me and Wyatt for more than a day or so especially after you discount all the dumb stuff like SweeTarts and Three Musketeers. And it bothers me SO much that there is NO running. NO one was running. What the hell. There is supposed to be running on Halloween.

And let me tell you something else, the best reason to have more than one kid is more than one candy bag but I made the mistake of having my kids fifteen years apart so that doesn't work. I still have the headache of two kids, I still have to buy Christmas gifts for two kids and of course the obvious issue that I will have raised children from the time I was sixteen years old till the time I am fifty  and still only have a fifty-fifty chance of having one turn out right AND I only get one bag of candy a year.

Let me tell you what I think the problem is.

I think the problem is that we have ruined our kids.

We feed them whenever they are hungry and we feed them good stuff. I used to have to eat gross stuff, but I ate it because I was hungry and I knew that if I didn't eat it I would starve to death and die.

If Wyatt doesn't like what I make for dinner (like I would ever even consider making something he doesn't like) he knows that he can just have a little Ben and Jerry's or some Easy Mac later. He also knows that if we're at the store I'll buy him stuff that he likes like cereal that doesn't taste like the box it comes in.

So really, why should he worry about hiding candy in his underwear drawer when he knows all he has to do is ask for it and I'll buy it for him.

GAH! I have done this.

I have screwed myself out of the Halloween haul.

6 left for his new job yesterday. They rented him a car and he and some other guy drove to somewhere in Central Oregon for the meet and greet. I hate to tell you what his new job is because I'll get it wrong and he reads the blog and then he'll get all fussy because I never listen to him when he tells me stuff, but I do listen if it's interesting to me.

He is going to be driving flat bed in more than one state and into Canada.

Ha!

Vague but correct.

He'll be gone for a while and then home for a few days so it won't suck as bad as when he was in Iraq but I also won't have him OCD'ing around the house all the time.

It really is the best of both worlds.

And don't think that I think that I'm some peach to live with because I'm not and I know I'm not. I'm a total slob with complete disregard for other people's stuff.

I never put anything away and I seldom rinse my dishes.

I leave my dirty clothes on the floor and I don't brush my teeth before bed, but I'm very friendly and I used to be pretty so no matter what, he's still a lucky guy :)

Tomorrow I'm going to tell you about a HUGE disgusting bug.

On The Road Again

Tuesday I walked into the utility room at least four times to start a load of laundry, heard the washer going and turned around and walked out. After dinner I realized Wyatt has his rock tumbler running and it wasn't the washer after all. I figure at this rate I won't get any wash done for the next four to six weeks.

I have a bunch of stuff listed on Etsy and haven't sold anything. I've decided Etsy is more like bring & brag in grade school. You never get rid of anything, you just show it off. I'm going to list some junk on Ebay today, but I don't figure I'll find my fortune there either. Remember when Ebay was like one big garbage sale? Now it's just a bunch of new stuff. I could have a big garage sale, but I can't check my facebook and tend to a garage sale at the same time like I can with Etsy or Ebay.

Buddy somehow ripped his toenail off this morning and then decided to herd Molly Mule and nipped her leg. I'm not a doctor, but I ended up having to play one in the pasture before I even had my coffee this morning. Buddy's ripped off nail made me throw up in my mouth a little but it doesn't seem to bother him and I really felt sorry for Molly. She was just minding her own business when the self proclaimed wonder dog came out of nowhere and decided she needed to move. They're both ok, but Molly's keeping a pretty close eye on her new nemesis.

6 has taken a new job. He's tired of driving log truck and it no longer affords us the lifestyle we've grown accustomed too. You know, like eating AND paying bills. We also decided that after recently attending trailer park school and being informed that the mobile spaces need to be "run like a business," Wyatt and his condition, the menagerie and my intermittent ailments it would be difficult for me to get a real job, and actually, that works out well for me because the thought of having to make myself socially presentable every day is rather daunting. Anyway, 6 has put lots of thought and effort into finding what he feels is the best company to work for and applied to and was hired by an over the road long haul company that provides great benefits, retirement and bonuses. For him the biggest bonus will probably be not being nagged on a regular basis or having to change the sheets on my side of the bed ;)

I'm Baaaaaack

Well kids it's been an eventful few days here around the TrailerParks farm.

When we left off I had just had my hair cut by local resident expert Mik'el.
He did a bang up job and I love it.
Thank you for all your kind comments.

I wish he would have stuck with cutting hair though as on Sunday he found himself in quite a dangerous predicament with a table saw.
As you know he is remodeling our little bathroom (due to the great toilet flood of 09) and things were going along just swimmingly until he went to cut some shims for the drop ceiling over the new shower.
That's when I heard it.
A very loud "ugh" followed very quickly by a muffled "frumph."
I shouted out to the garage to see if he was ok.
He said no.
I couldn't go to him though because we have an understanding that I don't "do" blood, so if there was an appendage on the floor, the rules clearly state I will not engage.
The last thing I clearly heard was Mike mumbling, "no blood."
By the time I got to the door, he had made it in the house and passed out on the floor so I had to wait until he came to to find out what had happened.
He told me the table saw bucked a 2x6 back at him and it hit him straight center in the gut.
I didn't know what to do so I called my sister Julie in Friday Harbor.
She said without looking at it she couldn't really advise me what to do but I should call 911.
Mike didn't want me to call 911 so I helped him to a chair and snapped off a quick picture to show my Sister via iChat so she could better advise.
That's when Mike passed out again.
My sister said to CALL 911.
I did.
911 took him to the hospital and then that hospital transferred him to the Trauma unit at the BIG hospital in Portland.
Scary.
Internal bleeding kinda stuff.
So, two days in the hospital and now he's home and I think he's going to live!

I guess bad things happen in three's because while Mike was recovering in the hospital we lost our little dog Gizmo.

He has been very "not" Gizmo for the last few days so my Mom offered to take him to the Vet.

His veins were badly compromised and he wasn't getting the oxygen or blood supply he needed.

My Mom held him in her arms while he closed his eyes and went to live with doggy Jesus.

We will miss him so much.

Gizmo was a used dog who came to live with us three years ago.

We knew he was an old dog but we also knew that he would enjoy living out his golden years

here on the farm.

We will miss you Gizmo, may the streets in Heaven be paved with treats.

I don't know what number three is yet.
With any luck the bad things will stop at two.

OH!
Wendy came over yesterday and we had a fantastic visit.
I guess I'm just mad at her and that I really do still love her ;)

Just for the record though, I still think her boyfriend is a blood sucking psychopath.

Week In Review

Well it's been a busy week here on the Trailer Parks Farm!

Mike has been busy working on the deck, even through yesterdays snow and rain.
Lucky #6 certainly is a trooper, and he does great work too!

Wyatt, much against his wishes, but after accepting a twenty dollar bribe unwillingly gave in to a hair cut last night. We are pleased to report that he does have ears and a forehead.
Here he is, clean cut and pissed off.

I decided to get busy on Tiffany's rug this week.
Here is the process so far.
From sheet to strips to sewn strips to ball0sheet.
One more sack to sew and I start crocheting.

My Sister sent me a care package of my FAVORITE products!!
Melaleuca makes the BEST soap products I have ever used in my whole entire life and thats NO lie.
After using them I can't go back to using anything else.
So that's SIX dish soaps, a bar soap, shampoo (the best) liquid mint hand soap and a candle!
Really, there is no way to describe to you how wonderful these products are, you just have to try them yourself.
Thanks Julie :)

Then, yesterday in the mail came a gift from my BBF MamaHut, AKA Buddhas Mountain Momma (rings like a John Denver song doesn't it!) Margarita foot cream, body lotion and a special top secret ingredient hand scrub AND one of her wonderful made by her on the mountain heaven scented reed diffusers!

How lucky am I!!!
Very lucky thats how!

K, I have a rug to make.
Ciao'

Under Construction!

Things are changing here on the farm!
Mike is working on taking down the deck and getting ready to rebuild a new one!
Here's a before picture so you can follow along with the progress.

Work in progress.

Here's for all you pig lovers, a close up of Pearl!

That's all for now, but later I'll share some rug love and a step by step how to for anyone who want's to make one of their own.

Did You Hear What Mike Did?

I took the chains off the dog house Friday afternoon and we've been living the dream again ever since.
I want to thank all you wise women for siding with me and not the enemy!

I have decided to share with you the the topic of our malcontent.

Gossip.

He claims that I was "gossiping" with my sister and it is my claim that I was simply "sharing information."

Blame it all on Neil Diamond, it's his fault.

My mother was given the opportunity to attend Neil's show here in Portland and I thought the idea of my seventy year old mother attending a concert verged on absurdity, but she was absolutely giddy over the idea.
I shared my thoughts openly with my mother and even warned her against attending for fear that it may be to much for a woman her age. I told her that there would likely be hipsters there carrying on in ways she felt inappropriate and the noise alone could possibly cause permanent emotional scaring. I told her it would keep her up till hours of the night that she normally sees fit only for using the toilet with a nightlight to guide her way.
She repeatedly reassured me she was up for it.

Here's where the trouble starts....

The morning following the concert I was on iChat with my sister relaying the events of the evening.
To the best of my knowledge, Mike was asleep and I was talking in a hushed tone behind a closed door.
I was wrong.
Mike had awoke and was on his way to let the dogs out and heard me talking.
He came in the room and sat down to participate (uninvited) in our conversation and immediately accused me of GOSSIPING!
Whatever!
He had scolded me for sharing maternal information with a blood relative.

I think that is definitely grounds for dispute.

It is my belief that I can say anything I want about my mother to my sister without it being gossip because it directly affects said sister if for no other reason than she was given life by that person and any acts of insanity by a parent can possibly be passed on to the child and we need to be aware of any signs with as much advance warning as possible.

Example:
If aforementioned sister suddenly becomes a Fanilow and takes up traveling the countryside to attend shows throwing undergarments at the stage, at least we will have some idea which side of the family the insanity stems from.

I was NOT gossiping.
Trust me, he's clear on that now.

On a side note...
My mother had a fine time and suffered no ill affects from the event.
As far as I know, my sister has no unhealthy fondness towards Barry Manilow.

Mamma Aint Happy...

I'm mad at Mike today and consequently in no mood for NO*TEL* RO*TEL.
Besides that I can't have fun in the kitchen when I'm busy making angry eyes at him.

I'll be back when the TrailerParks Conflict is settled.

Close Call

Mike hauls grocery's for Safeway.
He has always driven truck.
He started out driving log truck many years ago and now works for a company that offers good retirement and benefits.
He is the best truck driver in the whole world.
Seriously, he is.
Thursady night he left the yard around midnight and headed to Central Oregon in this terrible weather, but he is smart and safety minded, so I don't worry to much about him.
The only trouble he has is when other drivers don't bother to use the brains Jesus so generously gave them.
Like Friday morning.
He was driving down a two lane highway in blizzard like conditions just as it was turnung daylight.
He looked in his rear view mirror to see a small truck passing him half way up the length of his trailer.
He looked forward just in time to see another semi coming straight at them from the opposite direction.
Mike took one ditch and the other semi driver took the other ditch as the truck in the middle slammed on his brakes and went careening between them and down an embankment.
If it hadn't been for split second thinking on behalf of Mike and the other semi driver all three of them would have likely been dead.
The other driver called 911 as Mike ran down the embankment to help the man who had tried to pass. As he was helping him out of his beaten and battered pick-up, Mike asked the guy what the hell was he thinking.
His response.....
He couldn't see, so he thought it was safe to pass.
