I am SO frustrated! This whole doctor business is getting me down and when I think about all the money we've spent and all the time Wyatt has missed from school it's enough to get my panties in a knot. The money grubber doctor we saw yesterday is of the same mindset as the rheumatologist we saw a month ago. He wants to start Wyatt in their "special" physical therapy program at the hospital. He diagnosed it as RND which is apparently a disorder only recognized by a small number of doctors all trained under the same physician who discovered it. Convenient huh? So this is what I'm going to do. I'm going to sign us both up for the fat lady senior citizen water aerobics class at the pool. Low impact stretching right? Right. I'm going to buy one of those pedicure tubs and soak his foot and massage and stretch the tendons every night. He's just going to have work his way back to where he was. No hospitals, no scammers doctors, we can do it ourselves. I wonder if insurance would be willing to pay me a few hundred dollars an hour... Maybe if I explained to them how much money I'm saving them in the long run they would at least consider it. Here's the deal. I have seen the x-rays and I know there is no break or fracture. His bones are ok. He has very limited circulation in that foot, but they say it is from lack of movement. We can take care of that ourselves. Maybe I can come up with my own white trash treatment plan and have doctors refer their patients to me. Stretching would consist of weed eating and edging along the fence line. Muscle development would come from unloading feed sacks and rooster wrangling, and I could let people pet the donkeys and sit criss cross applesauce in the pasture with the goats and call it meditation therapy. I would call it Body and Soul Rehabilitation or B.S Rehab for short. I think I'm on to something. Do you think I could get away with a "getting in touch with your aggression" therapy and have people "work" through their emotions by cleaning out the chicken coop? If someone really has issues they can clean out the pig house. I could start a "shock water" therapy class in the pond that would work you through your fears. Fear of getting caught up in old tree snags and the patio umbrella that blew in there twenty years ago.
Tomorrow is my Birthday and I'm having a sleepover with some friends. Well, technically they're Wyatt's friends and it's really just one friend but I'll still make them sing to me and I won't have to share my box of wine with them and after they go to bed I can finish off the cake by myself. I decided to give myself Weight Watchers this year because I'm tired of being a big fat fatty and then maybe for Christmas I'll be tall and thin and get myself a boob job. A girl can dream... Can't she?
Tomorrow I'll tell you a funny story about a black and white dog and a skunk.

Another Day Another Doctor
Today is another doctor day for Wyatt. A pediatric orthopedic surgeon. I think we should have been seen last week, but no one ever called us to schedule, so when the office called yesterday to make him an appointment in mid June the receptionist asked what he was being seen for. Since we don't have a diagnosis she asked if he was "weight bearing" and I said no and she said "we'll see you tomorrow." Funny how that works. I wonder if would work at the Lady Parts Doctor. Try it sometime, if they tell you the doctor is booked out two weeks tell them your not "weight bearing" and see if they get you in for that pap any sooner.
Wyatt really enjoyed being back in school yesterday. He said he got pretty tired and ended up taking a nap on the cot in the storage closet nurses room during lunch recess, but other than that he had a great time. I picked him up after school and took him to a late lunch early dinner at his favorite restaurant and he thought that was great. He's home today because the entire fifth grade (I think all sixty or so of them) are going to a concert at the high school. Since he can't do buses or stairs and has an appointment this afternoon he bagged out of school today but is super excited to go back tomorrow.
Did you watch American Idol last night? I love both Lee and Dreads, but I have really been pulling for Lee to win. Last night changed everything when Dreads pulled out three FABULOUS performances. I'm pretty sure she's a shoe in to win!
Ummmm... I ordered my birthday present yesterday and it should be here sometime this week. 6 and the kids are going to be so happy they got me something SO great. I was SO surprised when I ordered it for myself from them and really touched by their thoughtfulness. I don't want to tell them what it is though because I really want it to be a surprise. I will give a hint though, it's two and it's blue. I'll be sure and post pictures as soon as it arrives.

Diagnosis?
We are back from another trip to the Hospital
They called this morning to check on how Wyatt was doing and when I told them they told me to bring him in.
He isn't responding to any of the medications that he has been given including Vicodin,
(like I really want him taking Vicodin anyway)
Neurontin, NSAIDS, or even Tylenol.
Once again his blood tests look o.k.
The Doctor gave him a once over (again) and after not finding anything (again) referred us to a Chiropractor or Acupuncturist until we could see the specialist who she was sure would know exactly what was going on.
I opted for Chiropractor first.
We were ale to get in with our family Chiropractor this afternoon so we drove Wyatt there and wheeled him in.
I wish I would have gone there first.
Dr Cracker, short for bone cracker, looked him up and down, asked us questions we hadn't been asked yet, pushed, pulled, turned and tweaked and then had this to say...
Wyatt's lymph nodes are swollen.
His throat is berry red and inflamed.
His belly nodes are swollen and painful to the touch.
It is not just joint pain, but also and mostly muscle and tendon pain.
Dr Cracker is 90% sure Wyatt has Stills Disease which is a type of JRA.
Stills rarely presents in any type of blood test rather it be SED, ANA or even RA specific tests.
Here's what we do...
Take his temp in the morning when he wakes up, and at night before bed.
No tomatoes, potatoes or peppers.
Cod liver oil three times a day.
And, everyone's favorite, follow up with the specialist on Wednesday.
There isn't anything more we can do to control the pain until we meet with the specialist, so it's continued rest and NSAIDS until then.
I feel SO much relief in knowing that someone, ANYONE has some idea as to what this could be.
For now I am putting all my eggs in the Still's basket and hoping for even more answers as the days go by.
I wish I could do something to show our appreciation to everyone who has been so kind to us and showed us so much love and support through this.
Thank you ♥

Not Your General Hospital
I can't believe it's already Thursday.
We spent a better part of the day in the Emergency room yesterday and you know how time flies in a Hospital.
Wyatt continues to get worse and yesterday was horrible.
I decided to move one of the adjustable beds into the living room for him so he could get off the couch. He can't sleep in his water bed because it's impossible for him to get in and out of it.
Moving the bed out required that I first move the couch to the other end of the room so Wyatt would have to sit in a chair while the moving took place.
There were tears running down his face the entire time and he was gasping in pain.
I had called my pediatricians office at 9:00am to get some relief for him.
They called me back around 10:30 and then never returned my call with any solutions.
Mind you, the good doctor that we had seen last Saturday was off yesterday and it was the stinky foot gym loving doctor who was on call.
I decided to do something that I knew was wrong.
I gave him a Vicoden.
And then I called my Mom.
My Mom said it was time we went to the Hospital.
We went.
Wyatt had to ride in the car laying down in the back seat because his hips hurt to much to sit.
To say the least he's lost his bend.
At the Children's Hospital in Portland they have valet parking.
You pull in, a guy runs out to assist you out of your car
(in our case with a wheelchair.)
We walked in, I checked Wyatt in and before I even had a chance to sit down they wheeled him into pediatric emergency and within three minutes of that he was in an exam room with a nurse waiting to take all of our information.
From the time we pulled in to the time we saw a doctor was under 15 minutes.
Amazing.
They did more blood work, gave him some more pain meds to break the pain cycle, and did a bunch of physical examination.
In the end, they said we needed to follow up with the JRA specialist, keep him off his feet and keep him comfortable with pain medication.
So, now Wyatt is in a bed in the living room, using a wheelchair to go to the bathroom and we are counting the days until we see the specialist.
Good times on the Farm.
Anyone want to mow my lawn?

What's Up With Wy...
I know, it's been awhile and I haven't meant to leave anybody hanging.
If you're on Facebook you have been getting little updates, but there is so much going on it's hard to keep up.
First I want to say thank you to everyone who commented, Facebooked me and emailed me about how serious Wyatt's pain could be.
If it wasn't for all of you I would have continued to believe
(as the doctor had told us two years ago)
that these were just growing pains.
I called the doctors office the day of my last post and everyone jumped into action.
Wyatt was seen first thing the next morning and the LNP informed me that what Wyatt had could be a number of things, none of them growing pains. She sent us immediately to the hospital for blood tests and made us a follow up appointment with one of the doctors.
The doctor we saw turned out to be the same one that we had seen in November 2008 and the same one that had diagnosed Wyatt's pain as growing pains. It was obvious that she still believed that's what we were dealing with especially since Wyatt's bloodwork had all come back negative.
She went on to inform me of all the other patients she had seen who had suffered with this kind of pain simply grew out of it after a year or so.
I reminded he that she had treated Wyatt for this two years ago and that it has only continued to get worse.
Way worse.
She ordered more tests, gave him a medical release from school, a prescription for muscle relaxers and referred us to a juvenile rheumatoid specialist.
Then she went on for thirty minutes about her gym, what exercises she does and her kids.
I nearly had to carry Wyatt from her office to the car.
I got home and called the specialist and made an appointment for... May.
Great.
I called the doctors office back and asked them what the hell I was supposed to do in the meantime.
The doctor phoned in another prescription, Elavil which is a very old anti depressant used for sleep and pain issues.
I told her I didn't want to sedate him for a month, I wanted him treated.
Well, it seems that's all she could do for me.
I looked at my son who was now unable to walk without assistance, who cries at night as he sleeps from the pain and who gasps from the pain as he changes position on the couch.
The pain is in his right foot, right knee, left hip, right elbow, right shoulder and his neck.
When she applied pressure to those spots in her exam Wyatt had tears running down his face and would cry out every time she touched him.
I decided that doctor could... Well, I decided I didn't care what she said and made an appointment with another doctor in the clinic.
Yesterday we saw Doctor R.
She examined him for over thirty minutes.
She did physical tests that the other doctor hadn't done.
She found out that he has very limited range of motion in his shoulder.
She found out that anywhere below his right knee he can't differentiate between sharp and smooth, but can only feel pressure.
She is calling to get us in with the JRA specialist... Before May.
She told me it wasn't growing pains.
She told me she will find out what it is.
She ordered a wheelchair to get Wyatt to the car because he couldn't walk.
I cried most of the day yesterday.
I cried because I was scared, because I was relieved that we found someone to help and because I was tired.
You see, it seems that the world doesn't stop, even when you need it to, it just keeps turning, and life keeps throwing things your way and you just have to keep your mitt out there and catch whatever comes.
Except for yesterday.
Yesterday I laid in bed and watched the Earth s l o w l y spin on the Dish Network Earth Channel and it gave me time to breathe.
So thank you Dish Network for bringing me the Earth and thank you to everyone who has held us up and supported us.
I'll keep you "posted"
:)

I'm Baaaaaack
Well kids it's been an eventful few days here around the TrailerParks farm.
I guess bad things happen in three's because while Mike was recovering in the hospital we lost our little dog Gizmo.
I don't know what number three is yet.
When we left off I had just had my hair cut by local resident expert Mik'el.
He did a bang up job and I love it.
Thank you for all your kind comments.
I wish he would have stuck with cutting hair though as on Sunday he found himself in quite a dangerous predicament with a table saw.
As you know he is remodeling our little bathroom (due to the great toilet flood of 09) and things were going along just swimmingly until he went to cut some shims for the drop ceiling over the new shower.
That's when I heard it.
A very loud "ugh" followed very quickly by a muffled "frumph."
I shouted out to the garage to see if he was ok.
He said no.
I couldn't go to him though because we have an understanding that I don't "do" blood, so if there was an appendage on the floor, the rules clearly state I will not engage.
The last thing I clearly heard was Mike mumbling, "no blood."
By the time I got to the door, he had made it in the house and passed out on the floor so I had to wait until he came to to find out what had happened.
He told me the table saw bucked a 2x6 back at him and it hit him straight center in the gut.
I didn't know what to do so I called my sister Julie in Friday Harbor.
She said without looking at it she couldn't really advise me what to do but I should call 911.
Mike didn't want me to call 911 so I helped him to a chair and snapped off a quick picture to show my Sister via iChat so she could better advise.
That's when Mike passed out again.
My sister said to CALL 911.
I did.
911 took him to the hospital and then that hospital transferred him to the Trauma unit at the BIG hospital in Portland.
Scary.
Internal bleeding kinda stuff.
So, two days in the hospital and now he's home and I think he's going to live!
I guess bad things happen in three's because while Mike was recovering in the hospital we lost our little dog Gizmo.
He has been very "not" Gizmo for the last few days so my Mom offered to take him to the Vet.
His veins were badly compromised and he wasn't getting the oxygen or blood supply he needed.
My Mom held him in her arms while he closed his eyes and went to live with doggy Jesus.
We will miss him so much.
Gizmo was a used dog who came to live with us three years ago.
We knew he was an old dog but we also knew that he would enjoy living out his golden years
here on the farm.
We will miss you Gizmo, may the streets in Heaven be paved with treats.
With any luck the bad things will stop at two.
OH!
Wendy came over yesterday and we had a fantastic visit.
I guess I'm just mad at her and that I really do still love her ;)
Just for the record though, I still think her boyfriend is a blood sucking psychopath.

Super Boring Weekend
Well, another weekend come and gone....

Doing a rug that way is a lot of prep work, especially when you (Mike) have to move the sewing machine into the living room so you can still see the t.v and then figure out how to run the thing because you never learned how to sew.
I started and finished my first rug on Friday, but I don't like it so I'm going to rip it out and do it over.
I went to the thrift store and bought some old soft cotton sheets, brought them home and stripped them, sewed them together and crocheted them into a rug I love.

Mike had to give me a few lessons of things that he remembered from watching his Mom sew.
The last rag rug I did, was made from strips about 1/2 inch wide and about 5 inches long and then latch-hooked through some holy backed stuff.
It took forever but the results were great, I want to do another one out of t-shirts.
Wyatt's friend Leanne was over for the weekend.
She's always fun to have around and Wyatt LOVES having friends over.
We had pizza and ice cream for dinner and pop-corn and Jell-O for breakfast.
Good times.
Speaking of good times...
I called and canceled my lady parts appointment on Friday.
I just about had myself worked into a nervous frenzy over the whole thing and that was after I took a "mothers little helper."
I knew I would launch into meltdown mode which is why I popped a downer, but who knew it would be so bad.
I think I need to start out slow.
Baby steps.
Not go in for a mammogram and hoochogram at the same time.
My biggest fear is that I have some sort of crazy crotch and they're going to talk about me in the lunch room.
Do they all look the same?
Can you have "wrong crotch?"
What if mine is SO astoundingly different that they have to stop the exam to take a picture to send to the AMA?
The only thing that gives me comfort is that I have been married six times and it's never been mentioned before.
None of them ever said, "Well Marilyn, your a heck of a nice girl, but you've got one crazy crotch..."
I can't talk about this anymore, I'm starting to break out in hives.

Spare Parts
Well, it was quite a day, was it not?
I think we are living in amazing times and rather you voted for our new President or not, there is no denying something big is going on.
Ok , so now let's get on to the topic of me.
Yesterday I went to the lady parts doctor.
Do you have any idea how long it's been since I've seen a lady parts doctor?
Lets just say I left the last visit with a newborn and said child is now in the fourth grade.
It wasn't a shave your legs appointment, just a meet and greet.
I barely drop my pants for my husband after a romantic night of dinner in and a new netflix, I'm not about to drop them for a stranger when I have to make a co-pay.
Anyway, I think I like her and have agreed to see her again.
I imagine this could be an interesting story to follow.
I mailed out the TrailerParks Friendship Blog Bread starts yesterday, so those lucky gals who rushed to get their names on the list should be receiving a little something in the mail soon!

Bart went to the dog parts doctor yesterday to "get fixed."
He's still moving pretty slow, and we haven't had much luck keeping the bag of frozen peas in place, but the pain pills seem to be working and we're all hoping for a speedy recovery.
It's kind of unfortunate to think that twenty five years from now when someone asks, "where were you when Barack Obama was inaugurated?" I'll have to try to remember if the dog was being neutered or if I was discussing my excessive weight gain, facial hair and the date of my last period with a stranger.

Growing Pains
Wyatt has been having growing pains for the last month or so and I haven't thought much about it.

When he woke up Monday morning he couldn't walk down the stairs.
He. Could. Not. Walk.
I freaked out, (imagine that) figured he had polio and immediately started mentally fitting him for a metal brace.
After I had him sized up I cracked the phone book in search of a pediatrician.
Wyatt has never been to the doctor.
Well yes he has, but the last time was for his well baby check.
I always took him to the health department across from where I worked downtown for his immunizations, and he's never been sick, so he never had a reason to see a doctor.
If we were still in Washington I would just call his baby doctor, Dr.Les, (isn't that funny, we went from Dr Les to doctorless) but now we're in Oregon, so who do I call...
I find out that the Oregon's Children Hospital has an office in the same building as my shoulder doctor, since I know where that is, thats where we're going.
So I call.
I asked the lady if they were taking new patients.
She asked me if we had insurance.
I said yes.
She asked what kind.
I said Teamsters.
She said a doctor could see us at 1:00.
I wonder what time during the month of never we would have been able to see the doctor if we didn't have insurance.
The good news is, Wyatt does not have polio and will not be needing a metal brace.
He has planters faciitis and will be wearing orthodics.
The tendon between the ball of his foot and his heel is to short because his arch is to high and he's growing to fast.
So he's home from school this week and we're keeping his foot wrapped with sport tape and he's popping ibuprofen every four hours and things seem to be looking up.
Wendy brought her boyfriend over last week.
I don't think he was drunk the first time I met him, I think he's just "short bus."
How do you tell the difference between chemically and mentally impaired?
Anywho, thats all that's new with me.

Times Up!
I went in for my first shoulder check today.
Doc said things were pretty ugly when he got inside and I am still at HIGH RISK for dislocations and further problems.
He kept saying "chronic."
Whatever.
He then moved forward by telling me I would need to stay in my "immobilizer" until Thanksgiving.
With a stunned look I asked him if that meant it was a bad thing that I hadn't been wearing it for almost a week.
He shot me back the same stunned look and replied that yes, it was a bad thing.
I can have my arm out of the "immobilizer" for fifteen minutes TWICE a day.
T w i c e a d a y.
Do you know how hard it is to pull my underpants up over my fat right hip every time I go to the bathroom?
Do you know how hard it is to smoke AND drink coffee with an "immobilizer?"
Do you know how long it is until Thanksgiving?
Do you know that it takes me longer than fifteen minutes to blog and that means if I blog once a day it uses up my two fifteen minute breaks and eliminates shower time?
I have to go, I'm already on borrowed time.

The Break Room
Ok everybody...
Heres a little Pearl. SO funny
While I'm gone there's no reason for this place to just sit around empty.
I want you to feel free to come over here, hide from the boss or the kids, watch some videos or even just put your feet up and take a nap.
I have put together a potpourri of entertainment for your viewing pleasure.
I will be thinking about you all as I'm jacked out of my mind on narcotics for the next few days, but rest assured, as soon as I am capable of independent unattended thought and motion, I will make my way back to you.
So......
See more Will Ferrell videos at Funny or Die

Who can forget Luke and Laura's wedding?
My FAVORITE feel good song, enjoy!

Peas Out
Ok everyone.
This is it.
Tomorrow is the day.
This is the last "live" post as I have auto posted a little something for you tomorrow.
If by some chance this turns out to be soap opera surgery and I die during the procedure, you guys can divvy up my blog roll, awards and photographs and take what you want.
If I don't die, I should be back in couple weeks.
Thats it.
I'm not going to say anything else because I don't want to cry.
What if I pee on the table under anesthesia.
Does that ever happen?
K, now I'm starting to cry and I don't know if it's because I'm afraid I'm going to pee on the table or I'm sad to say goodbye.
Both.
I'll miss talking to you guys every day and hearing all your stories, thoughts and adventures.
To bad you can't TiVO blogs and have them played back on audio.
Would that be BLiVO?
Ok, I'm going now.
Gawd it's always so hard to say good bye.
Remember in Terms of Endearment when Deborah Winger say's "pull away slow Flap" and he floors it.
I need somebody to floor it for me.
bye.

Family Ties
Well, it was Kate that was shot, and unfortunately it appears as though she is going to pull through.
The up side is that her cousin Olivia has spilled the beans that Kate is really Connie from the block and they share some big secret she's a tranny.
The up side is that her cousin Olivia has spilled the beans that Kate is really Connie from the block and they share some big secret she's a tranny.
In other news.
My new shoulder doctor squoze me in for an appointment yesterday afternoon.
I really like him.
I think he's about fifteen years old, I doubt he shaves and his mother probably drives him to work, but I really like him.
You should have seen him blush when he saw the tattoo on my right shoulder that says 'Dave's Babe" (third husband).
Obviously his name is Dave and I guess he's never seen his name in lights before.
So my new surgery date is October ninth.
Or maybe it's the tenth...
As Sarah Palin says, "I'll get back to ya on that."
Wendy and I are still not speaking.
I upped the ante last night and applied a rainbow background to her MySpace page with a caption that reads, "Coming Out."
The way I see it, an aggressive maneuver like that will either cure our relationship or kill it.
I for one hope we can heal the pain through laughter.

"Sink" Your Teeth Into This..
Mike and I have been talking about replacing the faucet in the kitchen sink.
It's been there since the house was built and starting to show it's age through spots and leaks.
Mike stopped on his way home yesterday to pick up one up, but came in empty handed.
They wanted close to $100.00 for a cheapo one.
Whatever.
I told him to sit back and watch me do my magic....
I logged on to Craigslist and within five minutes found a cast iron enamel coated double Kohler sink with an uptown faucet on it!
SCORE!
For seventy dollars (less than the cost of a new faucet) we have a beautiful new sink with a fancy faucet.
Sometimes I amaze even myself.
Gizmo isn't doing so well today.
I think he had a stroke yesterday and has been having a hard time, wandering around bumping in to things and very lethargic.
I am really worried about him, but I'm not going to take him to the vet.
I have read up on doggy strokes and there isn't anything that can be done for him, so I'll just love him and hold him and maybe teach Bart to be his service dog.
I wonder if that means Gizmo could get into a nice restaurant or acquire a better parking spot at the market..
If he has medical reason and a service dog he should get all the perks that go with it.
Wendy and I made up.
We had a roast for dinner.
GET THIS!
I received a message from my shoulder doctor yesterday saying there has been a "family emergency" and my surgery scheduled for October 6th has been moved to October 26.
This is so wrong in so many ways that I'm not even going to go bother listing the reasons.
I will call this morning and cancel and then get on the stick to find another doctor.
I got a postcard yesterday!
From the Farmers Wife who has been on vacation and sent greetings to all her fans who left their address for said correspondence.
I bet the mail lady thinks I'm cool and have friends who travel to all kinds of exotic places.
Last year I got a post card from my Sister while she was in Italy and now I get one from Arkansas, OH, and Wyatt got a package from Afghanistan where his uncle flys a mail plane.
I roll with some real movers and shakers.
Now, go check this out.. The Cutting Edge of Ordinary
Make sure you have already had breakfast because browsing here awhile will make you oober hungry and if your belly isn't full, you may find yourself licking the screen.
I'm not kidding, go have a Pop-Tart or something.
While your there, grab this and get your name in for a give-away!

Brush With Fame
Oh my!
Corki the goat is featured on Nannygoatsinpanties today.
He really is a fine goat, but who knew he'd make it so far so fast.
I hope Norm doesn't get wind of this and feel like an amateur.
Maybe lightning will strike twice in the barnyard and he can get his taste of fame too.
Ok, here's the deal.
I got the news yesterday that I need to have surgery on my shoulder.
The full on slice it open pull and tug it tight procedure.
On the 11th of THIS month.
After I say that out loud I kind of get depressed and don't want to do it and just want stay home and eat Mallomars instead.
Whatever.
I'm going.
On the 11th.
Of this month.
I'll have someone feed me Mallomars when I get home.
The doctor says six weeks in a sling that somehow goes around my waist as well as over my shoulder to keep my arm still.
I hope the tie around my waist is elastic, because after six weeks in the chair in the house there will be a lot more to tie around.
Ok, I don't want to talk about this anymore...
~~~~~~~~~~~BREAKING NEWS~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wendy is breaking up with the Plumber tonight.
She says he doesn't make her laugh.
Listen, I have been married six times and the only time I have ever laughed in a relationship is when I am talking about them, not to them.
She's young, I guess she'll learn for herself.
Today is Wyatt's first day of school!
He is in the same class as Shannon (thank the good Lord for that) and they have a new teacher this year whom I believe is young enough to be a child from my own loins.
That's ok I guess, I'll have more pull at conference time by giving her the "look".
Miss Herr: (That's "her" real name) "Well you see Mrs. Parks, Wyatt seems to be having some difficulty with his times tables and I was just thinking....."
Me: "Yes Miss Herr (looking down my nose over my glasses with short tone) you were thinking maybe you need to spend a little more time educating the child instead of diddle-daddling so much"?
Then I could always throw in a "in my day...."
I can't believe I'm even old enough to use the "in my day..."
My Dad used to tell me how in "his day" he had to walk to school, up-hill, both ways, in the snow with a pig on his back.
I don't know what the pig was for, maybe for lunch.
I have to get back to my cleaning now.
Life and Times of Today
Well, after losing half a nights sleep to anxiety about my appointment yesterday, they cancelled it.
The Doctors wife had a baby and he will be out for a week.
So, instead of going to the doctor we went to pick up our new used goats yesterday.
If you ask me, that's a WAY better way to spend your day.
Norman and Corki rode home in the back of the explorer and loved every minute of the ride. I don't know if they'd ever been to town or not, but I can tell you, they enjoyed the sights.
They fit in like they've been here for years, and get along with all the other tenants of the barn yard, even learning the secret call for snacks.
I have a slide show posted below and I'm in the process of loading all the pictures of the day on Flickr.
Be sure and click the photo link to your right.
Here's the scoop on Wendy.
She is STILL dating the plumber and he is SO great.
I hope beyond hope that they date for a long time and he doesn't get grossed out by her nose picking and farting.
I wonder if maybe he's a bit to normal for a family like ours, but given time we can work him into our weirdness.
If life was like one of my daytime stories, I would already have something to bribe him with to make him stick around.
Maybe I could just make something up and give it a go.
How's this.....
I could tell him I have all the information I need about his involvement with the situation in Panama and if he doesn't marry Wendy I will turn it over to the South American Consulate.
It could be just crazy enough to work.
Mike just went to the feed store and then he's going to swing by the company he used to drive log truck for.
They're getting a truck ready for him to drive during the week because groceries are to slow for someone low on the seniority list.
The money is ok just working weekends, but God bless the man, I want to smother his face in a pillow until all the life runs out of him when he's home from work all week with me.
Is that bad?
I'm sure it is but really, what can I do.
He has done all the trimming, mowing, pruning, raking, cleaning, fixing and building he can do, and now it's to the point that he's starting to watch my stories with me.
It's gone to far.
Driving log truck a few days a week will do us BOTH good.
I think that's all I have to say for now.
My heads a little loopy from the new no-puke pills they have me on.
Trust me though, I'd rather have loopy blog than an oogy belly any day.
OH!
Look what I got from my friend Mamahut!
Thanks MH, I think your a Kick Ass Blogger too : )
Oogy Belly
I am up in the middle of the night because I have a doctors appointment today.
My belly hurts and I am so scared he is going to say I need surgery that I can't sleep.
My arm STILL hurts and it's been three days more than a week.
I don't get it.
One of the ducks, either Nancy or Barbara laid her first egg yesterday.
Thank you and congratulations to whomever the honor bestows.
Wendy had her SECOND date with James the plumber last night.
He seems very nice but I will not get to attached just yet.
If we make it through the weekend I may serve him a homemade meal.
Wyatt is VERY excited to start school.
He has new clothes and long hair and says he feels like a rock star.
I think he looks like a well dressed hippy, but hey, whatevers clever.
I'm going to go lay on the couch and watch Saved by the Bell or an infomercial and try to get some sleep.
For Julie
My Sister told me tonight that if I didn't put up a new post people would most likely think I'd fallen in a ditch.
I'm not in a ditch, but I did dislocate my shoulder AGAIN last Friday.
That's ten times in nine years for anyone who's counting.
This was a bad one.
I was laying down reaching behind my head to move my pillow when it happened and Mike couldn't even move me off of the bed.
Before long there were five paramedics loading me into the ambulance and heading to the hospital.
I have been to the Orthopedist who sent me for dye injected MRI's and x-rays and we will have the results on Monday.
I am still in a sling and a fair amount of pain and it looks like shoulder surgery round two is eminent.
As you may remember I had the interview at Safeway and I got the job, but now I'm unable to take it.
I have heard that everything happens for a reason, but I just can't think of a good reason for all of this : (
Sooooo, I'll be back as soon as my blogging arm heals up a little.
Ok, here I am.
I woke up this morning to the sound of the goat wagon (GK's suburban) starting up in the driveway.
By the time my brain-body thought-action connected I got to the bedroom window in time to see GK heading out the driveway.
It was 6:00a.m.
I went directly into official stress overload brain freeze mode.
Was I really seeing this?
Where was he going.
What should I do?
What could I do?
I called Kelly.
I'm not sure what I thought my Sister in Montana could do about GK heading out the driveway at 6:00 am, on his own, in Beavercreek Oregon, but it was the best I could come up with.
I paced and smoked and drank coffee and repeatedly asked K what to do until GK drove back in the driveway about twenty minutes later.
It turns out GK was going to his appointment when he realized he didn't know how to get there, so he turned around and came back.
Good decision.
We left the house together about three hours later.
Here's what the doctor says.
There should be NO side effects other than mild stomach cramping the third through tenth day of chemo.
It should not effect his appetite.
It should not effect his energy levels, maybe some "mild fatigue."
It should not cause any noticeable bone pain.
All in all it will improve his quality of life.
Please read the following sentence and tell me if it makes sense to you.
Read it slowly if you feel the need.
Chemotherapy will improve your quality of life.
Maybe in the long run, but during treatment?
I informed him that I had cared for my Father when he was going through chemo, and none of the things he was saying to me was ringing any bells of familiarity.
He told me chemo had come a long way in seven years.
Has it?
If you know something I don't know, please share it with me, I need some support here.
Here's something else to talk about.
Wyatt's talent show was today.
I thought it was last week, but I was mistaken, it was today.
Wen and I decided to get there early to get a good seat.
It was a great show.
Everyone was terrific.
Jump ropers, singers, puppeteers, etc.....
Wyatt did his martial arts routine and it was good but lacking music.
Note to self... when performing solo, make sure you have a good beat to accompany you.
Here's what Wendy said while we were waiting for the show to start.
Honest to God I am not making this up.
Wen: People in wheel chairs are lucky.
Me: Why?
Wen: They always have a place to sit.
I'm not kidding, that's what she said.
I have to go start dinner.
