A Lot About Nothing

And the year of the sickies rolls on...
Wyatt has been sick so many times this year, nothing serious, just colds mostly, snotty nose and coughs, but they just keep coming one after another.
6 was sick last weekend, but I don't think it's the same thing Wy has now, Wyatt is having really bad stomach pain and 6 was having dizziness, shortness of breath and a heaviness in his chest.
I know, I know, it sounds like he was having a heart attack, but he's fine now.
I hope.
He has to be ok, and so does Wyatt because our insurance doesn't kick in until February 1st and we're still paying off our last two medical emergencies.
So keep your fingers crossed and hope for speedy recoveries, I need them both well so they can take out the garbage and open the gate.

Still no call about my dream job.
Deborah went over my resume and cover letter though, so maybe I'll have a better chance at the next job.
I really wish I could just set up a farm store in the little house and make my soaps and candles and sell coffees and flowers and produce and honey and berries, and pumpkins and eggs and antiques.
I'll work on that.

I'm trying to think of what to make for dinner tonight...
I think I'll make PW's Round Steak, I have a few in the freezer and anything fried is always a hit in this house.
Maybe I'll make some M&M cookies for dessert.
I made Paula Deen's Monster Cookies last week and they were deeeeelish but what wouldn't be deelish with an entire jar of peanut butter, a stick of butter, M&M's and chocolate chips.

Ok, I have to go to town, I'm out of dog food and chicken scratch.

Peas.

I don't blog during the summer.

Or if I have company.

That's  so dumb because that's when the best stuff happens.

I'm trying to think of something to say or a funny story to tell, but I got nothin.

I think I'll get a perm . In February.

And some new shoes.

Here's a picture of Pooter and Astro.

Not Very Alarming...

Ugh... My brain is in spaz mode right now because for like the thirteenth morning in a row my alarm didn't go off,  and today I woke up with only six minutes to get Wyatt out the door. I'm not sure what I even packed in his lunch, for all I know, he may be having a can of Spam and some sweetened condensed milk for lunch, and I guarantee you he isn't wearing clean underpants but I do know he took a swipe at his teeth albeit I'm sure with a dry brush.

Oh well, we get a do-over tomorrow.

And tonight I'm going to get a different clock, I'm through giving my stupid other broken one chances. I mean it.

Wendy was here yesterday ♡

We had a really nice day even though she's still pretty sick. Every time she coughed I thought she was going to spit a lung out on my coffee table so I dosed her up with cough syrup and cough drops and some Sudafed which helped, but she was still coughing and gagging all day, so we just took it easy and watched documentaries about obesity and meth addicts. I know that sounds depressing, but really it makes you feel good about who you are because you don't weigh a metric ton or snort battery acid.

SH!T!!!!DARN!!!

I forgot to take the garbage out and the truck just went by.

Mannnnn I hate it when I forget to take the garbage out, but when 6 is gone we hardly have any garbage. I wonder why that is.

Back to Wendy.

She looks good, but she has jet black hair with two red stripes in the front on either side of her face but I just acted like I didn't notice and I didn't say anything, but that got shot all to hell when Wyatt came home and said

WENDYYOURHAIRISBLACKWITHREDSTRIPES

and so then I said  oh yeah, cute :)  I kind of think she knows it's pretty wild, and she is in beauty school and I just need to settle down and remember that when I was in beauty school I had red hair for Valentines Day and green hair for St Paddy's Day and dated Wayne Radder and so maybe this too shall pass.

The wind blew so hard here last night, I think some of your stuff is in my yard. The dogs were barking all night as things crashed and banged and I laid in bed remembering the Wizard of Oz and envisioned chickens being blown past the house and that skinny b!tch from the mobile spaces riding by on a stationary bicycle.

I think Astro just pooped in a plant.

See ya tomorrow.

Morning Report

What a weekend...

For those of you just joining in, my family moved to Oregon in 2006 to care for my aging Grandparents and stayed after they passed to take care of the "farm" (my menagerie) and the property. The house was originally a barn that my Grampy painstakingly turned into a beautiful home that my Grammy painstakingly filled to the brim with every piece of sparkling glass and tchotchke she could get her hands on from every Goodwill, thrift store and estate sale in at least three counties. Now, mind you, when she was here to keep the place up everything was always white glove ready and very Taj Mahally and museum like and that was great, but put my family, three dogs and countless other pig sty inducing elements into the mix and you have one giant chaotic clutter filled nightmare. Add to that, my grandparents were both hoarders before hoarders were cool, but my Grammy was a closet hoarder. Literally. Every closet and cupboard in this house is stuffed full of old magazines, newspaper clippings, maps, calendars and the elastic from every pair of underpants my Grampy ever wore. I'm not kidding, and don't ask, I don't know. There are half empty bottles of Flex shampoo from 1973 in the bathroom and the service manual from a washing machine purchased before the Maytag Man was even born in the utility room. So the point I'm trying to make here is that we are still in the process of sorting through and organizing things in the house and if I were a betting man which I'm not because I'm not a man and I don't have enough money to bet with even if it's a sure thing, I would say this is a job we will never complete, and really... I'm ok with that. So that's how we spent our weekend and Wendy is coming out today to help me finish up, but I have to go to town and pick her up because her DBB is looking for a job today and has to use her car. I guess the job he had let him go because "there weren't enough hours" to keep him on. Ummm hmmm. Sure. I'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that he's a giant loser or anything and he's probably just going to use her car to go to douche school today to learn how to be an even bigger douche wad than he already is. Like that's even possible.

Ok, so the other thing we did this weekend was start working on the upstairs because we're turning it into a craft room for ME! 6 built me a ginormous (really huge) table and we put all my shelves up there and all my crochet stuff and soap stuff and candle stuff and craft stuff and I'll have comfy chairs and a t.v and a phone and a computer and a mini fridge and so if you need me for anything look upstairs.

He also built me a new soap mold.

And I love it.

Thats all.

A Lot of Nothing

Is it creepy that Wyatt is finding rocks in the yard that he can pick up with magnets?

Should I have the carpets cleaned before our company comes for Labor Day weekend or after?

Wyatt missed the bus this morning because the clock on my computer was ten minutes slow. I thought I was playing Bejeweled for a long time and then the bus passed the house and I knew I had played Bejeweled to long. Oh well, I got to see some other moms who had apparently also been playing Facebook games to long because there were ALOT of moms dropping kids off at school this morning. Maybe because it's such a long bus ride from anywhere to the school. Wyatt needs to be out the door by 6:40 and school starts at 7:25 and the ride home is even longer. Have you ever noticed the cars that people drive when you drop off or pick up at school? I noticed today that most of the cars were trucks like ours. You know, the four door trucks. Not many mini vans, a few SUVs, not very many cars and no hybrids. Interesting. Especially since Portland is such a green city and Oregon as a whole is pretty with it when it comes to conservation. I guess Molalla didn't get the memo. Did you know that Oregon may be one of the first states to ban the plastic grocery bag? I'm totally in favor of it, banning the bag that is and if you have to use them at least recycle them. I made my sister a HUGE grocery tote out of more than 200 plastic grocery bags. I wish I would have taken a picture of it, I swear you could fit two kittens and a goat in it. I used my rotary cutter and stripped all the bags and then crocheted them into a hobo kind of tote. Maybe I'll make another one. I get the bags from the recycled bag bins at the store.

I wonder when we should take the pool down.

I'm going to try a new no bake cookie recipe today.

I am so bored now that Wyatt is back in school.

If he can't participate in P.E at school, do you think he should take riding lessons or swim at the pool a few nights a week? Maybe he should do both. If I took him swimming I could hurl my fat ass into the pool too. I'll look into swimming. And continuing riding lessons.

A Little About Nothing

Wyatt is home again today. His foot is swollen up like a football and he keeps bellering out from muscle spasm's. Soaking in epsom salts and lots of massage seem to help, but setbacks are frustrating.

I have a new diet plan... Shaving my legs. I shed a few pounds just this morning.

I'm going to town to buy some Glade Tropical Rain air freshener plugins. You know, those things that make your house stink prettier than it really does. This rain is starting to get to me, so I figured at least with the scent of tropical rain wafting through the house I can trick my mind into thinking it's at least warm outside.

Why do wet dogs smell worse than dry dogs?

I'm excited to put up my clothes line. We didn't have it up last year but I'm for sure putting it up this year, I love the smell and feel of line dried clothes, ESPECIALLY sheets.

6 called from Iraq this morning to see if I've had the oil changed in the truck. Nope.

I still hate Wendy's boyfriend. He's such a loser and he treats her like sh!t. I know, everyone that knows me is rolling their eyes remembering that Jack Ass I was married to twice, but trust me, it's different when it's your kid. Obviously she didn't get the do as I say not as I do memo.

I consider housework a huge waste of time.

Barely Worth A Click

I know, this is SO lame.
I have NOT been in the mood for blogging.
I'm still not.
Trust me though, your not missing out on anything.
If anything exciting happens, you'll be the first to know.

Heres a picture of Pooter before his haircut.

I'm Baaaack....

Okokokokok....
I know, I've been slacking.
I haven't even been around to read my usuals.
I'm trying to catch up though :).

Here's what's been going on.

Mike has finished demolishing the deck.
It looks amazing.
He has done such a good job so far, I can't wait to see the finished project.

We have been cleaning the yards, replanting tree's and bushes and just tending to general maintenance after a somewhat nasty winter.

I have also been struggling with Maisy New Dog.
I am totally not the get a pet don't keep a pet kind a girl, but poor Maisy is giving me the fits.
She has turned our somewhat mindful well behaved group of mutts into an out of control pack.
Chaos has reigned since the day she arrived.
She is completely unresponsive to her name, even with a treat in your hand and full pockets.
We can not call her off of anything, chickens, goats etc...
Once she starts to run theres NO stopping her.
Mike and I followed her through the pasture for an hour this week trying to get her back on the right side of the fence.
My fear is, she will get in with the donkeys and be stomped, or worse yet, get out on the road and be hit.
So, here's my dilemma.
Do we find her a new home (remember, she is already a two time used dog) or deal with it?
We have tried working with her on the basics, sit, stay, come...... nothing, nada, no go.
What does one do when faced with a bad dog dilemma?

Saturday Morning Post

It's Saturday morning and I think we have a busy day ahead of us.
Mike was stacking wood below the deck on Thursday and saw the the deck was rotting.
Bad news since it's a BIG deck, and really rotty.
So he's going to tear off half of the old deck and rebuild the other half, hopefully bypassing the need for building inspections and permits.
Cross your fingers.

We're having the breakfast of champions here on the Parks Farm this morning, maple bars and Hostess crunch doughnuts.
My motto is if your going bad, go big

I'm off to the store later today for some fresh veggies to make stew tonight.
I don't think theres anything better than the smell of stew simmering on a cold afternoon.Throw it together with some hard crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside fresh bakery bread and you have a great dinner!
Kind of makes up for breakfast I guess.
While I'm in town, I think I'll wheel into the thrift store for some old sheets and hook up a crazy colored rug this weekend too.

Super Boring Weekend

Well, another weekend come and gone....
I started and finished my first rug on Friday, but I don't like it so I'm going to rip it out and do it over.
I went to the thrift store and bought some old soft cotton sheets, brought them home and stripped them, sewed them together and  crocheted them into a rug I love.

Doing a rug that way is a lot of prep work, especially when you (Mike) have to move the sewing machine into the living room so you can still see the t.v and then figure out how to run the thing because you never learned how to sew.
Mike had to give me a few lessons of things that he remembered from watching his Mom sew.

The last rag rug I did, was made from strips about 1/2 inch wide and about 5 inches long and then latch-hooked through some holy backed stuff.
It took forever but the results were great, I want to do another one out of t-shirts.

Wyatt's friend Leanne was over for the weekend.
She's always fun to have around and Wyatt LOVES having friends over.
We had pizza and ice cream for dinner and pop-corn and Jell-O for breakfast.
Good times.

Speaking of good times...
I called and canceled my lady parts appointment on Friday.
I just about had myself worked into a nervous frenzy over the whole thing and that was after I took a "mothers little helper."
I knew I would launch into meltdown mode which is why I popped a downer, but who knew it would be so bad.
I think I need to start out slow.
Baby steps.
Not go in for a mammogram and hoochogram at the same time.
My biggest fear is that I have some sort of crazy crotch and they're going to talk about me in the lunch room.
Do they all look the same?
Can you have "wrong crotch?"
What if mine is SO astoundingly different that they have to stop the exam to take a picture to send to the AMA?
The only thing that gives me comfort is that I have been married six times and it's never been mentioned before.
None of them ever said, "Well Marilyn, your a heck of a nice girl, but you've got one crazy crotch..."

I can't talk about this anymore, I'm starting to break out in hives.

No News

Ok, so when my Sister, the one who turned forty six yesterday said to me, "you know, I don't really care for the way the blog looks. It isn't really you."
I realized it had been quite some time since I've been here.
That and the few concerned readers checking in on me (thank you few concerned readers.)
So I decided to do some Christmas decorating and say "hi" today.

You see, what happens is, nothing happens, I have nothing to report and I end up not even checking in.
Just like right now the only exciting thing I have to report is that I haven't been reporting.

Wendy and I are still not speaking.
Things have been slow for Mike at work, so he's home ALL the time and as you all know, he sucks the concentration and creativity out of me (in a loving drive you crazy suck the concentration and creativity out of you sort of way)
Wyatt was home most of the week with a pooping problem constipation. What is it with kids and dogs and constipation at our house? Is Wyatt sneaking kibble or do the dogs raid the fridge?
We put the tree up and decorated the house.
One sister stepped closer to fifty and the other one is battling frozen tundra in Montana.
We have DVR'd every Christmas special known to man.
Did you catch the finale of Boston Legal? The B E S T.
We are gearing up for snow and "arctic" weather conditions tonight.
My Mom bought a new old armoire and sold a car.
I've been fighting reeeeeeealy bad headaces.

Thats it.
My life.
You haven't missed much.

I'll make up something for my next post.
I Promise.

Blahhhhhhh Blah Blah

Slow news day here on the TrailerParks Farm.
Mike is driving log truck today because groceries are slow this week.
He'll drive log truck today and tomorrow and then back to groceries Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Wyatt just got up for school and is watching Scooby Doo Werewolf for the one billionth time.
He decided he's going to be Slappy the haunted ventriloquist doll for Halloween.
Works for me, cheap and very little effort required on my part.

My arm hurts.

We put new heat lights in the goat/pig and chicken houses yesterday, it's been getting pretty chilly at night.

Nothing new with Wendy.

OH!
We watched Iron Man last night.
Sooo good.
My stomach hasn't done action flipps like that since the back seat of my Grammy's LTD on a winding road.

Sooooo.... Thats it for today.

I'll be back if Publishers Clearinghouse stops by or I happen to find out I was adopted from a roaming band of Gypsy's.

No News Here...

Hmmmm....
What should we talk about today?

Deb is part of a bloggy book club, but it's to early in the season for me to be reading so I don't have a gripping new novel to discuss.

J2B2 and Amelia Bedelia had a surprise sister soiree this weekend, but my sisters we're both home flogged with familial chores, so no story there.

I already told you about my Facebook encounter, I don't need to beat that one to death.

I got new appliances over the weekend!
Well, not exactly new, but new to me.
A shiny white dishwasher and flat top range : )
Super pretty and goes well with my new sink and faucet.

The neighbor (thats how I will refer to Wendy from now on when I'm disgruntled with her) and I are not on speaking terms as of yesterday.
Nothing big, as usual she's dumb and I'm the Mom and I know everything so I win.
Since we're not speaking, all I could do to have the upper hand in our dispute was to go into her MySpace account and change her profile picture to a hand sock puppet holding a dead fish in it's mouth.
It'll be a few day before she figures out what I've done.
It's the little things that bring a Mother joy.

Wyatt has been driving me nuts with his little boy BIG attitude phase.
To think I was naive enough to believe only thirteen year old girls held the license to heavy sigh and roll their eyes.

Thats it I guess
Just a whole lot a nothin.

Tune in tomorrow and we'll talk about who got shot at Kate and Sonny's wedding.
I hope it was Kate, I can't stand Kate, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't her.

Change of Plans

It's dog wash day!!!
George went in last week and today is Pooter and Gizmo's day : )
They go in for a profesional wash about three times a year and the rest of the time just look like fat dirty farm dogs.
My job today is to wash everything the dogs sleep on or play with so it smells springtime fresh instead of like dirty dog ass.

Oops.

The dogs just came running in the door with Mike following behind giving me the stink eye.
Tomorrow is dog wash day.
Oh well, call today a practice run and I don't have to do dog laundry until tomorrw.

I went to the doctor for my shoulder yesterday and of course, as I figured, there was nothing he was able to do for me other than a referal to an Orthopedist.
I have an appointment next monday for a full work up.
It makes me so F'n mad that I'm having shoulder problems again, because then I have to be so uber careful about anything I do with my right arm.
The shoulder issue is this.... it used to go out all the time and I had to have surgery in 2001.
It hasn't gone out since.
That is until two nights ago.
Whatever.

My Mom is bringing a friend out to visit this morning so I need to go brush my teeth.

Oh.
Well, my Mom just called and her friend is sick so they will not coming today.

I guess I'll go brush my teeth anyway.

Chow.

No Blog

Wasn't in the mood today.
Nothing to say except I got a new planter cup and saucer thing and put daisies in it.
Talk to you tomorrow.

As the Farm Turns

Another start to another day....

Wyatt's bus was reeeeeeeally late today, but what's new?
Mike is working mornings again today.
GK is........... doing his taxes.
Wendy is AWAKE!
She closed last night, but like me could NOT sleep.
She was over here bright eyed at 8:00 this morning.

I don't feel like I have anything interesting or clever to say today.
Maybe as the day goes on something will come to me.

As I layed in bed wide awake all night I thought of all kinds of witty things to say and interesting topics to cover, but now I'm just drawing a big blank.

Did you watch Law and Order last night?
So good, with Robin Williams.

I watched my soap on DVR at midnight last night.
The evil Dr. Devlin admitted to Kate that he was the one that shot Micheal.
He is  putting the screws to her for a million dollars to leave town quietly, or, shoot Sonny who was the original target of his shooting had the bullet not ricocheted in the warehouse and instead left Sonny's son in a comma at General Hospital.
Kate was hesitant, but after some intense and emotional  deliberation, decided she would pay the evil Dr the million dollars he was requesting to leave Port Charles for good so that Sonny could proceed with the agreed upon truce with the Zaccharas.
Unbeknownst to Kate it was the Zacchara's (the second biggest crime family on the eastern seaboard) who had originally hired the dirty Doctor to assassinate Sonny so that they could retain control of the piers and shipping lanes.
So intense.
It's no wonder I couldn't sleep with all that on my mind.

I have to go get a life now.
Ciao'

Cloudy with a chance of showers

Good morning everybody!

Wyatt is off to school.
Mike is at work.
Wendy is sleeping.
GK is............ doing his taxes.

I am drinking coffee and watching Cops.
No plans for today.
Yesterday I cleaned out the utility room and finished up all the laundry.
I think today I'll order some new curtains for that room.
I would MAKE them if my SISTER would come and teach me how to sew.
I bought two books on sewing, "Sewing for dummies" and the Angry Chicken Lady's book on sewing (see her blog in my list to the right.)
My problem is, I don't even know how to turn the machine on or make the thread go through it.
I decided I want to make some pillows. Pillows, aprons and curtains.
If only my SISTER would COME and show me HOW.

Anywho.
The pump guy showed up yesterday and we should have outside water again by the weekend!

What should I make for dinner tonight?

As promised yesterday, today I will tell you how to raise a kid other people can stand.

Don't EVER let them believe they are smarter or better than anyone else.

I think if a child is raised with humility and confidence as opposed to pride and ego they have a fighting chance.
I went a little over board with Wendy on the whole confidence thing, and now she tends to wade in ego.... well no, she swims in the pool, and because of that, you can't even bring it to her attention.
She insists she doesn't have ego, everybody just LOVES her and she knows it.
Whatever.

Humility and confidence, that's my advice

Ok, so until something interesting happens, Ciao'

Cold and Lazy

It's the kind of day to lay in the bed with the electric mattress pad turned up watching Lifetime movies.
So that's what I'm doing.
Check back later for any breaking news that may come about between commercials.
