I think every great illness known to man was hatched in a school setting by hundreds of dirty little hands and snotty noses wiped on sleeves, sneezes sneezed without cover and coughs hacked into the general confined air space of those same small people who will then travel out into a world of unsuspecting somewhat healthy adults.
Oh well, I'm over it and I'm sure my immune system is stronger because of it.
So thank you Wyatt and Canby Middle School for a weekend I won't soon forget.
By the way, Wyatt was very sick too, sicker than me even and I was very nice to him and cared for him and said nice comforting words to him, so that just goes to prove how humane I am by showing compasion to the enemy.
I didn't get to see my grannboy for almost a whole week and I think that was worse than the sickness.
We had our grandogger Molly over again last night.
We got Wendy and Jesse a new to them dryer and when Mike brought it in and set it up Molly jumped into his lap and begged to go for a ride in the truck and stay overnight at the farm.
Her parents said it was ok, so she got to go with Gramps in the truck and hang her head out the window and chase a skunk and play with the cats and bark at the geese and kiss the llamas and roll in the grass and get a bath and have her nails trimmed.
This picture was taken a month or so ago, but you get the idea.
No baby geese yet but that Mother Goose is doing her very best to hatch them.
She's even scared off Pearl who loves nothing more than fresh eggs in the morning.
We have Ma Goose barricaded in her house but we also have to leave it open enough for her to get out and eat and Nanny to get in to sleep which pretty much leaves it wide open for a wiley pig so obviously that goose has the pig on the run or maybe Nanny just had a word with Pearl and told her who's boss in the barnyard and to back away from the eggs.
Remember we had to move Pearl into the barnyard because her and the very baaaa'd sheep were going under the fence into the mobile spaces and foraging on the trailer park peoples long green grass?
Well now she's nosing under the fence to go into the lower pasture to eat the blackberry bushes which is ok with me, but she is scaring the dogsh!t out of the llamas.
I can't for the life of me figure out why the only two things on this farm that scares our strong and mighty camelid protectors is Pooter and Pearl.
Go figure.
Have you made these?
They are on sale in every store in the world for under a dollar and they're worth every penny.
Six tells me they're on sale for the feeding frenzy otherwise known as Super Bowl Sunday, but it doesn't much matter to me why, all I care about is how good they are.
Go get yourself some.
Peas.
I spent last weekend sick also. Not a fun way to spend time when we had glorious weather for the weekend. I love the way you describe the relationships between the animals on your farm, and I'm thinking those brownies are looking very good. Hope you have a better weekend this time around.
