Wow, it's been a long month, but my neighbor/new roomate is home.
Gk went into the hospital May 7th. There were many days we wondered if he would ever be able to come home again. He is one of the strongest men I have ever met. Kind of like a cat with nine lives. When I told him we had called a chaplain in to bless him because we didn't think he would make it through the night, he just looked at me and smiled. Maybe he just wanted to pull through so he could live with me, my Husband, eight year old son and three dogs. Whatever the reasons, he is sooo happy to finally be home and seems to be feeling really well. I love being in this house with him, and Mike say's he feels more comfortable now than he has in the last year. I think it's better to be here in the house with him because you don't worry about something happening when your gone. With Grammy, I always felt like Gk could call if they needed me, but when he is here alone, it's different.
We had a big welcome home dinner last night with Birthday cake and ice cream for dessert. We all sat around and talked and laughed and later it was like going to sleep on Walton's Mountain. Good-nights echoing through the house.
We have all five dogs in the house, and let me tell you....you have never seen a fatter, lazier bunch of dogs in your life. If their not eating, their sleeping.


Julie was here to help us move, and I have to say, if she hadn't come we never would have been able to do it. The woman is a machine. If she's not doing, she's thinking of doing, and always thinking of better ways to do what needs to be done. Everything went so smoothly and we had a fun time together.

So, I have laundry to do and lunch to make.
I also need to start really cleaning the little house, GK wants to fix the roof and rent it out. Soon.

Happy/Sad

Which do you want first? The good news or the bad news?
Ok, the GOOD news is that GK is coming home TUESDAY!!!! OMG, I am so happy. Not as happy as he is, but really happy : )
The sad news is that I won't be able to go north for a visit. Oh well, there's lot's of other weekends for that, and now that we have "Trailerpark Coffe Talk", it's almost like being there. I just can't see you.

So, that leaves us with a busy weekend ahead of us. Kind of like moving, but not really. It's only across the driveway and we're not taking everything. Just bedrooms and bathrooms. The rest will stay here so when Family comes there's a house ready to stay in.

GK had his Doctors apt today and got a great report. There was some confusion about the appointment though. I thought the Doc was coming to see him, so when I called to confirm that and they told me no, GK needed to come into the office I questioned how we were supposed to do that. They said they would just cancel the appointment for now and reschedule later. Ok.
So, I went to get GK's new glasses and then went in to see him.
He was gone.
Turns out someone called for a cab. The cab driver picked him up WITHOUT shoes, hat, nothing and took him to DIALYSIS. What? Dialysis? Anyway, when dialysis got him they figured out where he needed to be and got him there on time. I came flyin' in the door just in time and things went off without a hitch.
The Doc said GK is doing really good. He took him off of a bunch of medications, and started one or two new ones. All his levels are holding well and he is getting stronger every day.
He said Gk could come home any time.
ARGGGHHHH.......
Tuesday!
We have to get our ass in gear. Four days to have everything ready!
We can do it, and I have to say, it's happy pressure.

Gizmo's first Mom came for a visit today and that was fun. I was a little affraid she would want him back, but she didn't. She just misses him. I told her to come over anytime, we would be happy to see her. It was nice to have a visitor and laugh and talk about different things for an hour or so. She told me they have moved into their new house in Hillsboro.
THAT'S WHERE THE LITTLE PEOPLE LIVE!
Her kids will be going to school with the little people kids!! Fun.
Maybe I could go over to her house for dinner and a school assembly sometime ; )

Mike just got home, so we need to go plan a move.

BREAKING NEWS

This is almost for sure.

Not much else new today. I went to see GK this morning. He is doing so much better every day. I think he will be home in a week or ten days. Last night he asked Mike and I if we would move into the big house with him. Of course we told him we would. So it looks like that's our new project...getting the upstairs ready for Wyatt, and getting all our stuff together in our little house and figure out somewhere to store it.
Whatever it takes to get the neighbor home : )

I tried the new vanilla frosty at Wendy's last night. Really good.

Ok, I'm doing GK's laundry to take back this evening.
